‘Behind the Image’
My goal is always to make the photo as clean as possible. So in this photo, I decided to "close" the entrances to the theater so that the focus of the image would be the bride, but with the architectural elements complementing her. The use of black and white was intended to remove distractions from the colors because I didn't want them to take attention away from my main points.
Getting Ready
“I always like to arrive early to prepare everything calmly. We start by taking photos of the bride's accessories. This is something I always demand a lot from my team. It's about not doing something common, trying to play with light, shadow, and composition for these photos as well. This first photo here of the perfume inside the triangle was taken by one of the photographers on my team.”

Ceremony
“The ceremony was incredible, officiated by the siblings of the bride and groom. We faced a bit of a challenge due to the light, which was divided into shadows at the altar and very strong sunlight in the audience, as well as the symmetry of the decoration with the theater.”

‘Planning the Moments’
Everything at the L'Occitane Theatre envelops you. When a bride chooses to get married there, she expects that architecture to be showcased. I planned this photo of the bride's entrance long before it actually happened. I always position myself outside the "norm" during the ceremony, letting my team's photographers handle the frontal shots while I walk around and look for different perspectives. At that moment, I knew she would be descending the stairs, so I stepped outside the theatre and captured this angle.

“I always photograph with two other photographers on the team. I really like delegating some tasks, especially more traditional moments, like the entrance of the wedding party, for example. I also bring up some requests I've noticed during the wedding. In general, my team helps me a lot to bring the freedom I seek to create and bring a different perspective to the wedding.”

Portraits
“This was a bride who loves photos. So, we were lucky enough to photograph her for an impressive 3 hours during the "getting ready" session. In portraits, I always try to work with three pillars (light, composition, and expression), but I also like to take some with a more traditional look for options to frame in their home one day.”

‘The Three Pillars of Portraits’
“As mentioned above, the key to my work is uniting this tripod: light, composition, and expression. this image, I’m intentional with the shadows and symmetry of the triangles. And if you look closely, there's a bird that, by divine intervention, flew by exactly at the moment of the shot!”

Reception
“At parties, I really like to explore ambient light to create natural images. I usually turn off the flash for a good bit of the party and try to bring a more observant perspective to moments that aren't happening on the main dance floor, and this gives me more freedom to get close to people because I'm not frequently flashing their faces.”
