  • Blue is the new orange. The popular hard drive brand Lacie who makes those bright orange hard drives has released a new, faster, smaller better SSD hard drive range (with Thunderbolt 5) and it’s BLUE! Take a look here.

  • Canon’s new f2.8 wide zoom. Canon this week released a new 16-28mm f2.8 zoom lens. It’s much cheaper than Canon’s other zooms and might suit a wide wedding enthusiast out here. Jump in for details here.

  • Instax is winning for Fujifilm. Fujifilm this week announced soaring revenue and profit on the back of the success of their old and new Instax camera line up. Topping a crazy 1 billion in sales. Another sign film is on the rise - or are we calling the top?

  • An unformatted season of shooting? New SD card company Team Group just released a 2TB card at V90 speed. (yes that’s the fast one you want). Imagine not needing to format so often! See details of the release here.

Two editing trends in 2025
The internet runs a million miles an hour. And visual/editing trends run just as fast. But as 2025 warms up we are seeing a two big color directions:

One is embracing a bolder and stronger look. Perhaps jumping into something more ‘trendy’ and of the moment. We are seeing stronger edits, heavy grain and imperfections, actual sepia black and whites and dark, desaturated hues that lean into a darker/vintagey era. We LOVE the look right now but that’s a story for another day. The recent Danielle Frankel bridal campaign is peak THIS.
