Just like that moment the planner finally says “your vendor meals are ready” but maybe better… This is Lensel. Here’s what is on this week:
How to find a ‘frame’ or composition you are known for.
Impossibly soft tones in Portugal
+ the news from this week in wedding photographer
Alright, let’s get into it ⬇️
NEWS
Happening this Week
Expose them! Bridal brand Morilee both never paid their creative team and then edited the photos into a completely different location without consent. WILD on so many fronts and something we need to stamp out in the creative industry. Photographer Madison Aycoth posted these reels to tell the story. A similar case last month with NZ streetwear brand Huffer being accused of using AI to reproduce a model’s likeness and ALL the questions that raises. Full story here.
They upgraded the boring battery. Accessories company Falcon has released your camera battery but with direct USB-C charging and Apple airtag tech built in. Damn we didn’t know we need this, and now?! Made for Sonys with Canon coming soon.
Pretty long. This is what 2.1 million feet of film looks like and a little BTS of the film used on the new Christopher Nolan film Odyssey.
Marry absolutely anywhere. Like that beach? Your local pub? Yeah, you can get married there. England is changing it’s marriage laws to allow couples to marry virtually anywhere. Needless to say, venues are freaking out. Full story here.
Can cameras get better? The Sony FX5 was released this week, and yeah it’s a video camera (we see you reading). A big deal with the 16 bit RAW and a bunch of asked for features, but what else? Dive into a big review here, and see some video impressions here. Conclusion? Cameras don’t need to get much better, you do.
Peak Season Sale. Aftershoot knows peak season is hectic - so they’ve put together a discount on their annual plans to help speed up your editing workflow. 20% off any annual plan, or 40% off the complete plan.
Impossible Views. Imagine you could shoot not just infront of, but on the pyramids. This week we got a perspecitve of the pyramids not seen since 1951 with these incredible images.
THE BIG IDEA
🙌🏼 A Signature Frame: Developing Composition You are Known For

Images: theferros and jacobandchloe_
Everyone always talks about finding their signature editing style. Colours and tones they are known for. Yeah that’s hard and yeah it pains ALOT of photographers as they try to find it. But there’s actually something just as powerful that can help create a signature style and vibe and make your photos known as YOURS.
Something sitting right in front of you…
Yes, the composition, angles and precise perspective on how you capture your couple in a scene can become your SIGNATURE.
A camera held slightly lower with a certain lens.
A couple portrait that always has something in the foreground.
Leaving more room above the head than feels correct.
And here’s the line you need to REMEMBER…
Repetition is the key. One image with an unusual frame is just a nice image. Five hundred of them is a body of work.
So how do you do? Today we dive into a bunch of amazing signature frames and look at HOW YOU CAN DO IT TOO… ⬇️

INSPO TO KEEP YOU FRESH
⬇️ An incredible bold design yes, but LOOK CLOSELY at the way it’s captured. The use of drone through many points of the day.
⬇️ That sititng pose, but OH with the groom walking around in the background? Yeah love it! Such a great black and white series from down in Queenstown, New Zealand.
⬇️ The week simply can’t go by without mentioning this incredible wedding. MORE to come soon on this but wow the photos are iconic. Leaning into a heavier edit on the warm side, with greens moved a little to that warm yellow side in the calibration. Yes, it’s not just you, you can feel the 90s.
⬇️ IF there’s one post to click this newsletter, let it be this. Just incredible work from ZONZO. Every frame from the Rome wedding with a new idea or perspective.
