🧅 Layer Baby: How to Make Any Photo More Interesting

Images: @davidvanderleeuw and @haute.weddings
Stop taking photos ‘OF’ things.
You see something happening. You point the camera at it. You take the photo. A simple photo just ‘of’ your subject in the middle of the frame.
At weddings that usually means the bride and groom.
And if you’re not careful, you go home with 400 medium photos of said bride and groom doing different things.
But where are they? What’s the interest in this photo? Where’s something in the frame that will hold your gaze more than just a few seconds?
Maybe your photo needs a layer. (you missed the onion emoji didn’t you?)
Something in the foreground. Some background element. Something poking in from the side of the frame randomly…
We’re going to break down ‘how to shoot layers’ to absolute 101 level ⬇️
