AND follow the story from the planner who had 48 hours to re-plan a whole 140 person wedding after this sudden change - spoiler - the result was still magic! The value of having true pros on your side.
Film only?! Are more and more photographers dropping digital and going film only for weddings? A budding discussion on this in this thread.
The new all-rounder. Samyang has just announced the development of a super zoom, a 28-135mm f2.8 to be exact. WILD. But you’ll have to wait until February to get your hands onit.

Canon is reportedly developing a new macro lens.
Polariod’s new Mod. This week we saw a new camera from Polariod called ‘Mod Camera’. A classic polariod with 4 new creative modes built in - double exposure, light trails, split shot and motion freeze. See it in detail here.
WORKFLOW
Delivery Gallery layouts just got a sweet upgrade
No more plain grids.
Pic-Time this week announced a particularly noteworthy update to change something that has been the SAME for the longest time. How your grid looks when you send off your final gallery.
Before? Just a wall of photos like everyone else.
Now? You can add space, change sizes and design the grid layout to make something a bit more special.
We think this will be a gamechanger for how many photographers share and show off their photos to their clients.
See more about the update here in Pic-Time here - and get a special Lensel deal while you are at it.
THE BIG IDEA
⚫️ Is the wedding boom over? (real talk)

Images: biancavirtueweddings and foolishlyrushingin
You knew it. The wedding industry has been booming over the last five to six years. More weddings, bigger weddings, and the wider culture more into weddings than ever.
Along with that came more new wedding photographers than ever before. Everyone “booked out”. Making better work than ever. Pushing the boundary of what is possible on a wedding day.
It’s been a gold rush. More, better, faster.
And of course, everyone…EVERYONE chasing that “luxury wedding photographer” moniker that of course meant they could raise their prices a few times a season. Or atleast, that’s what they told you they were doing.
But this year?? It feels different. It feels like something popped. Stopped. Slowed down.
A bubble?
Where are the huge numbers of weddings online? Where are the enquiries? Why are dates that booked themselves easy two years ago still sitting empty? Why is every couple hustling you on price all of a sudden?
For a lot of photographers right now, it feels like something has changed this year and it’s somehow harder.
TODAY we get real and we talk about it. We look at:
Why better work isn’t turning into more bookings
The “luxury photographer” trap
Five practical moves for the next cycle

INSPO TO KEEP YOU FRESH
⬇️ Extreme halation and softness all over all of these images. Dive in for something new. Was it shot like this or edited this way after?
⬇️ FYI, red is about to be big. Besides that, this whole set feels like a perfect representation of the hot wedding aesthetic right now.
⬇️ You needed some indoor, low light inspo? Jose delivered. Most of us get a bit scared when turning up to capture a reception in light like this. SO study this hard, and consider adding a tripod to your wedding day gear checklist…
⬇️ Super fanning over this overhead perspective and composition. Sometimes it just takes the brain a second to think and realise that there might be an opportunity to create something like this! Turning an otherwise simple, green park into MUCH MORE.
We haven’t done this for a while… BUT we’d love you to share the Lensel newsletter. OH and if you do? We will start shouting out Insta profiles in each issue… Yes that could be YOU.
So ‘Click to Share’ gets you a referral link. Pop it in your story and show us some love.
