Vendor MVP. Next level commitment from this florist, as they held up the floral arch with their body through the whole ceremony to save it from the wind and rain. And you thought you loved your couples…
Could this replace your iPhone? A new phone/communicator device got announced this week and if you remember 2009 and the Blackberry you’ll love this.
Winners of the Hasselblad Masters competition were announced this week and the images are stunning.
Canon is due to announce a new camera this September.
Dangerous Engagements. Incase you somehow missed this story of an engagement on the top (we mean the very top) of the Empire State Building - then go check out this post. Any volunteers to shoot their wedding??? We thought not…
Weird Cameras. Godox just announced their weirdest camera yet. The C100 has a transparent smart ‘viewfinder’ display which introduces a whole new take and form factor in cameras… Check it out here.
THE BIG IDEA
🕺 Guest Ideas (+ downloadable Guest Mood Board)

Guests are your untapped marketing army.
We all love when people share our work online. That’s how the game works. New work comes from new networks…
Yes the bride and groom will probably share your photos.
Yes a few other vendors might share too.
That is all super nice. A win of course.
BUT what if MORE people would share your work?
Not just the wedding couple. Not just the vendors.
What if there was an army of sharers posting YOUR images and talking about your work online? An untapped marketing flywheel at every wedding you are fully using…
That army? You guessed it… is the GUESTS.
Seems obvious when we say it right? But there are 10, 20, 30 couples at every wedding who would love to share and post and show off your work to their networks at every wedding.
Of course we all love those candid, layered documentary photos of the guests. But that’s not what we are talking about today ⬇️

We are talking posed guest photos. Something more intentional. Something where you work to make sure everyone looks good - AND WANTS TO SHARE IT.
- it’s not just a random snap shot “can we have a photo?” because you feel like you have to
- it’s not just a moment on the dancefloor
- it’s not just a laugh during the speeches
It’s a moment where you pose and work to make the guests look amazing. Guests put so much love and time and effort into what they wear and of course they are wanting to show it off too… So help them do it well.
Jose Villa dove into how and why he does this during his in-depth 2-hour workshop in Lensel PRO (Replay available now to members)
He said, “Don’t just stop at directing the couple, direct and pose the guests.”
The proceeded to dive into HOW he poses and arranges guest shots…

The point is wedding photographers often make guest photos an afterthought. And certainly not a part of their marketing strategy.
So today we flip that.
We say go make some iconic posed shots of the guests. Direct your second shooter to 100% focus on it. Make sure you have a moment to go create some in the timeline. Create the kind of photos guests will share. Not just a few candids with their mouths half open.
OH YOU NEED IDEAS WE HEAR YOU SAY???
We’ve got you. Today, you can download our GUEST POSING BOARD.
