Exciting Lightroom news for every wedding photographer this week. We got the upgrade and integration we have all been waiting for!

That’s right. Welcome to the workflow, Generative Remove.

After Adobe released Photoshop’s Generative Fill feature earlier this year, photographers everywhere have been switching programs constantly to remove those hard to remove things that plague us at every wedding. It’s all powered by Adobe’s new AI Firefly technology. And finally we have some of these new tools integrated right into Lightroom. This will be a huge time/photo saver!

So what’s new?

The healing tool has been renamed to the ‘Remove Tool’ and this is the key to the update ⤵️

Showing where the new Generative Remove tool lives.

This all works WAY better to remove annoying objects in photos. Previously, you would need to take information from one part of your image and overlay it over the part you want to remove. Now, the AI actually generates new pixels. This allows complex sections to be removed and fixed.

The only problem. It’s kinda slow.

Well, slower than your typical heal or remove. So perhaps for small objects, keep using the standard tools. But overall, we are so excited for this update and it is already saving us so much time!

Let's celebrate a win though, Generative Remove! Thanks Adobe.
